| 1992-07-30 | Crashed by Brennand SPB, Lake Winnebago, WI, during "Oshkosh '92". The pilot/owner was killed. The amphibian landed in heavy waves and started to porpoise, collapsing the bow. The aircraft nosed over, inverted and sank. The aircraft had a total airframe time of 414 hours at accident. The pilot was an airline pilot with Delta Airlines and had approximately 23000 hours of total time. The waves on the lake were running two to three feet high at the accident. Aircraft owners manual stated: "Note that the Teal is FAA approved for operation in 12 inch waves" (NTSB). | |
